Draft minutes - to be approved at the next PC meeting

Minutes of the Meeting of the Planning Committee held in the Car Park at the Sports Field on Wednesday 17th September 2008 at 10.30am.

PRESENT: Cllr B Hendy (Chairman) Cllr M Evans

There were no members of the public present

Cllr Hendy opened the meeting at 10.30am Councillor Hendy declared a prejudicial interest in item PL 126 – 23a Cayser Drive. The following applications were discussed:-

PL124.      MA/08/1648 – 36 Laurel Grove Kingswood – erection of a single storey rear extension, first floor side extension and continuation of tile hung front open porch to full width of property.          NO COMMENT     

PL125.      MA/008/1719 - 8 The Waldens, Kingswood – erection of a single storey rear extension.               APPROVE

Councillor Hendy left the meeting at 10.50am.

PL126.      MA/08/1712 – 23A Cayser Drive, Kingswood – erection of a two storey side extension.              REFUSE

Councillors visited the site of this application and concluded that they wished this application to be refused for the following reasons:-

1.   The building and sight line from both Cayser Drive and The Waldens would be severely impeded; the building line would be very close to the footpath.

2.   The visible effect would be to the detriment of the general appearance of both Cayser Drive and The Waldens.

3.   This is already an infill site and increasing the size of the property would contribute to the effect of cramming.
